I saw Mamma Mia tonight - very fun. I love finding fashion inspiration from movies and the colorful costumes in this one were no exception. The party scene the night before the wedding made me want to go out and by a dress covered in sequins. I actually tried this one on at French Connection earlier today that would make a fun party dress.
The other fun trend inspiration in the movie was the greek goddess hippie look.
Rita Wilson (executive producer and wife of Tom Hanks) predicted that we were going to be seeing a lot of spandex as a result of the movie...I think I hope not.

I had a meeting in Chevy Chase today and couldn't resist popping into Loehmann's. I've been bored with my shoes lately and have been keeping my eye out for interesting ones. I found these two fun pairs for a bargain! The black and white ones are Anne Klein New York and the pink and purples ones are Sam Edelman. Apparently I am feeling the peep-toe sling back.
This is from Saturday night. We went to see my friend Tommy's band (www.myspace.com/quietcompany) play at Iota.

- Top is from Urban Outfitters

I'm getting excited for fall's hottest color, purple! So, as the fall merchandise starts hitting the stores in the next month, keep your eye out for purples and berries to add to your wardrobe. This is a dress I bought from Free People last year that I'm looking forward to wearing again this fall/winter.
I'm also going to bust out this handbag I've had for years from United Colors of Benetton.
And I love these berry colored corduroy pants by GF Ferre I saw in Lucky Magazine. These are a little pricey for me but something to inspire.
This is actually from the other day but I never got around to posting it:
